ANN Exclusive | In-game ANN Questionaire Results

 Written by RooZaIsBased

The Australian News Network has conducted a Questionaire in Byron Bay over the past 2 days. The questionaire was an opportunity for in game players to have a voice of their opinion on AU politics. It has been able to give us a clear indication of what the playing base of the group believe in regards to group politics.

The Questionaire consisted of 6 approval or voting intention questions, which were then recorded and formulated into statistical data by the ANN Statistics Department.

Question 1, being "If an election happened today, who would you vote for?" was answered with a split vote. The 36.8% of responses labelled the LNP as their preferred party, whereas 31.6% labelled the Conservatives, only a 1 response different. 26.3% of people did not support any current party or were undecided and 5.3% said the ALP. This is one of the tightest polling results of the month, one which did not predict the LNP at massive high's and the conservatives at massive lows.

What it does reflect is the election results and the percentage of party voters who voted in game verses an absentee ballot, where more LNP voted absentee then conservative, echoing how the conservatives would notably hold a large in game presence. Nevertheless, the incumbent government is trailing behind the opposition on the polls. The 26.3% undecided/unaware vote is also something that both parties will be eagerly trying to win over in time for the next election.

Question 2 was relating to the personal approval rating of the Prime Minister, Mike_Ritter.

It can be noticed that the Prime Minister, whilst trailing in the voting intention polls, has a high personal approval rating, being above 50%, unusual for most incumbent Prime Minister's. Interestingly, a large amount of individuals who noted LNP as their preferred party still noted as being approving of the Prime Minister. This will become a problem for the LNP in future if they intend to take over government.

Question 3 of the Questionaire spoke about the Treasurer. The Treasurer is arguably one of the most fundamental assets to this government, in both good and bad ways. Firstly, the Treasurer has contributed significantly to the Governments activity and policy making, but has recently come into controversy over a number of issues.

The treasurers approval rating was not as great as the Prime Ministers, but is not terrible considering current allegations, including on team murder etc. Coming from this, we can assume that the Treasurer would likely not take up any further cabinet positions, such as some had speculated with the Deputy Prime Ministerialship.

Question 4 and 5 branched out from politics, exploring the approval rating of the Governor General and numerous department commands such as the Australian Defence Force, New South Wales Police Force, New South Wales Ambulance Service and Rural Fire Service, with all coming back in a remarkable amount of approval, with the lowest command approval coming from NSWPF with just above 60%.

Question 6 questioned political involvement of those who played the game, which was met with a 3 way split between politically involved, somewhat politically involved and not politically involved.
