ANN EXCLUSIVE | The Conservative Government, Is this its downfall or will Mike_Ritter save it again?
Written by RooZaIsBased
Whilst some predict this mass resignation to be the 'end of the Ritter government', many could easily speculate that this is indeed just one of the speed bumps this government may face to the fufilment of its term. As seen previously, Mike_Ritter has often found himself saving things even when others considered them unfixable.
Before we dive into this possibility, lets analyse what actually happened:
- The Attorney General, Solicitor General, Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade, Minister for Home Affairs and the Minister for Communications all resigned,
- The Treasurer also resigned, before retracting his resignation,
- This comes after the New South Wales Courts summon the Prime Minister on x1 count of corruption.
The resignation of large amounts of the cabinet primarily puts into focus the possibility that the Unity Party could be withdrawing from the coalition, leaving the Conservatives on 12 seats and a questionable confidence and supply deal with the Australian Labor Party, now under question with the election of valor as the new party leader.
It has already been made public by the Governor General in public chat that the Leader of the Opposition forwarded him a plan to form a coalition government, after the incumbent government has seemingly lost their mandate in the upper house, unquestionably at the result of Labor support for the LNP return to power.
Nevertheless, the Prime Minister intends to release first a statement from the Prime Ministers Office, followed by what is expected to be a number of cabinet appointments. This signifies to the public that this bruised government is willing to give it another shot, a remarkable task. Considering the attitude of the Governor General in publicly discussing the LNP's coalition submission, it is likely that the minority government will indeed remain, however with minimal ability to legislate their agenda.
All of this comes after well known ACMA Chair, Lawdoood was terminated from his position by the Treasurer (Despite it being a communications issue), citing Lawdooods electoral involvement with the Liberal National Party in the previous election. The former chair has informed the ANN that he intends to submit a complaint to the Fair Work Commission.
